Tag Questions

 Have you ever wondered a way to break the ice when you're next to a person and don't know how to start a conversation? Well, me too and that's why there are Tag questions, But what exactly are they?

As I said, they are a way to break the silence and they can also be a way to start a conversation, of course there are certain rules to follow, such as if you start with an affirmation you have to end with a negation and if you start with a negative you have to end with a positive. 


How to build tag questions

Affirmative sentence + negative question tag.

-She is an artist, isn’t she?

-You are the new employee, aren’t you?


Negative sentence + affirmative question tag.

-My wallet isn’t here, is it?

-We don't drink wine, do we?
